Innerspring Mattress

While the innerspring mattress was invented over 130 years ago, over the last five years there has been some very dramatic advances in the innerspring mattress:

• No-Flip Design - Most all innerspring mattresses sold today are “non-flip” or one-sided design, which was an innovation developed by Simmons in 2000.
• Foam Encasement - Many of the top of the line innerspring mattresses included a foam encased edge. This allows you to sleep closer to the edge without the “roll-off” effect, and it provides more support when you sit on the edge of the bed.
• Comfort Layer - You will notice that many of the pillow-tops mattresses are now very thick, some up to 18 inches, with a comfort layer composed of high quality foams such as latex and visco-elastic.
