Sleep Experts and La-Z-Boy Bring Thanksgiving Early for Ronald McDonald House

D Magazine's "Sweet Charity" blog - November 10, 2009 - Okay, so we hate her, too. Christine Cook is the prez of Sleep Experts and she's the face on those television commercials about the in's and out's of mattress possibilities. She's way too cute. But she's also doing stuff off screen that makes her our new best friend.

Betcha didn't know that Ms. Christine arranged for 120 mattress sets to be delivered earlier this year for the soon-to-be-new Ronald McDonald House on Bengal Street. You heard about that? Then did you know that the value of the delivery was $150,000? Oh, you're so cool.

Then did you know that La-Z-Boy's Lewis Brown Jr. (pictured with Christine), founder/president of Lebco Industries, L.P., upped the ante today with a donation of an entire house of furniture with more than 300 pieces to outfit the Great Room, individual rooms, and some common areas? Chalk that one up for $300,000.

Does all this activity reminds us that Thanksgiving is just around the corner? Forget the pilgrims. We've got Christine and Lewis.
