Sleep Experts' "Cash for Clunkers" mattress trade-in event rewards customers for donating their old beds

Dallas, Texas (PRWeb) July 7, 2010 - Is it time to get rid of your old mattress? Dallas/Forth Worth mattress retailer Sleep Experts offers customers extra incentive during its second annual "Cash for Clunkers" mattress trade-in event beginning July 7. The company is offering up to $750 off select new mattress sets to customers when they trade in their old mattresses to be refurbished and donated to local nonprofits serving families and children in need.

"During Cash for Clunkers, we want to reward our customers who trade in their old mattresses and thank them for helping us share the gift of sleep with local families who are victims of abuse, or struggling with homelessness, poverty, or illness," said Christine Cook, wife, mom and president of Sleep Experts. "Last year we collected more than 1,200 mattresses, and this year we won't stop until we reach our goal of 2,000 donated beds."

The Cash for Clunkers offer is given in the form of an instant rebate and is good on select mattress sets including Laura Ashley, Simmons, BeautyRest and Comforpedic. In addition to the rebate, during the event Sleep Experts is offering special financing, with no money down and no interest for two years. Trade-in mattresses will not be collected in the stores. The Sleep Experts delivery team will pick up the old mattress, in any condition, when delivering the new one.

When to replace an old mattress
The answer to the question "when do I need to replace my mattress" depends on many factors, including the quality of the original mattress when purchased, the frequency of use, and the weight and sleep habits of the person sleeping on it. The Better Sleep Council says, "...in general, a mattress set that has been in use 5-7 years is no longer providing you with the best comfort and support," and recommends that people shop newer models at least every few years. According to Consumer Reports, a mattress becomes less comfortable and supportive after about 10 years.
