SLEEP EXPERTS WINS "HEARTS OF HOPE" AWARD

Dallas, Texas - February 21, 2006 - Locally owned bedding retailer Sleep Experts was recently honored to receive the Volunteer Center of North Texas Hearts of Hope Awards. They were one of 150 corporate nominations in the Family Service Category. This year marked a milestone year as the Volunteer Center celebrated efforts of our community's finest volunteers at its 25th annual celebration luncheon. Sleep Experts was nominated by Family Gateway for their ongoing commitment to the nonprofit through the company's REST ASSURED program, established by Sleep Experts President Christine Cook. Through REST ASSURED, Sleep Experts provides refurbished mattresses to 15 area nonprofits and shelters and strives to meet each nonprofit's needs through drives and projects throughout the year.

"We are so thrilled to have a product, as ordinary as it seems, that can help families in need make a fresh start," said Cook. "It is our hope that Sleep Experts' partnership with Family Gateway and other community organizations will help families in need feel refreshed and better prepared to move forward, and ultimately, play a role in their journeys to self-sufficiency."

Since partnering with Family Gateway, Sleep Experts has provided more than 200 beds for families in the downtown shelter, helped renovate Family Gateway Apartments, and provided use of their commercial trucks and staff to support furniture drives at area churches on Sundays throughout the year. Most recently, Cook coordinated the donation of 25 beds to support Family Gateway's efforts to help Hurricane survivors, while also coordinating in-store relief drives of water, nonperishable food items and diapers that filled seven delivery trucks and raised thousands of dollars for the Red Cross.

More than 900 were in attendance at the Hearts of Hope awards celebration, where Guest Speaker Lt. Gen. Russel L. Honoré, leader of Joint Task Force Katrina, addressed the crowd on the critical role volunteers play - referencing the recent Hurricanes and thanking Dallas for welcoming evacuees with open arms.

"We are extremely honored and humbled to receive this award and to be in the presence of so many outstanding volunteers and the dynamic Lt. Honoré, who cannot be thanked enough for his heroic efforts following the Katrina disaster," said Christine Cook, president of Sleep Experts and Louisiana native.

"She uses her business to make a positive difference in the community, not just for families at Family Gateway, but for numerous other local nonprofits, and that is indeed, a blessing to this community."
